When I visited this woodland in West Sussex on the 23rd of April, the bluebells were well on their way to their best but there was little else in the forest to signify Spring. A week later and I was amazed by how much spring had sprung into life, especially in the canopy and lower branches. I was initially greeted with mist at the edge of the forest which quickly cleared away, but there still remained some atmospheric conditions occasionally when the sun rays pierced through the canopy. Later than usual, Spring had finally sprung in Sussex.
