I’m delighted to announce that this picture taken at the Steyning Bowl, won a prize at the South Downs Photo Competition 2019/20.
If you especially like it, there's still a chance to vote for it in another award by January 31st at: www.southdowns.gov.uk/PeoplesChoice2020
Having arrived here later than expected, due to last minute road works near Steyning and the Sat Nav not being able to recommend an alternative route, I was relieved to come back with a shot that managed to convey some of the magic that I witnessed there that morning.
After the sun had risen above the Downs, I thought about packing up, but instead opted to look for more detailed compositions by using my telephoto lens and managed to capture a moment when birds flew over the scene. I particularly like the cow standing in the field looking on, as the mist advances in front of it.
This photo can be found in my Sussex gallery along with more photos of the South Downs.
